Flatbed
Flatbeds are the most versatile trailers as they can be used to transport almost any load regardless of size. The benefit of using a flatbed trailer is that it can be loaded from any side with a forklift or crane. Our flatbeds can carry up to 48,000 lbs. legally, and with a permit can carry additional weight. Our flatbeds can legally handle shipments up to 53 feet long, 8 feet 6 inches wide, and 8 feet 6 inches high.
Step-Decks
Step deck or drop deck trailers are like a flatbed except they can accommodate a load with a height of 10 or 11 feet depending on the model. Step deck trailers may also be used with ramps for shipments that can be driven on for easier loading. Our step decks can carry loads of up to 48,000 lbs. legally and are 53 feet long. The downside of this trailer is the length of the deck is not consistent. It has an upper deck of roughly 10 feet and bottom deck of roughly 43 feet.
Double Drop
Double drop trailers or mini decks have a middle deck with two upper decks. The double drop is another option for transporting loads that are over legal heights. Our double drops have main decks that are 29-34 feet long, 10-foot front decks and 8-foot rear decks. Some of these trailers can legally handle loads that are 12’ 6” in height in the well. If a shipment exceeds that height it must be permitted but that is no problem for Silence Lines.
RGNs
Removable Goosenecks (RGNs) or ``lowboys`` are typically used to transport heavy loads but can be used for a variety of shipments. The neck of an RGN can be detached and will allow the front of the trailer to be used as a ramp. Our RGNs can transport loads ranging from 48,000 to 100,000 lbs. but additional axles can be used to accommodate even heavier loads. The main deck ranges from 29 feet to 34 feet long like a double drop.
Dry Van
Dry van trailers are best for loads that need to be protected all around. Their loading capacity is limited because they can only be loaded from the back of the trailer and would normally require a loading dock for loading and unloading. Our dry vans can carry a maximum weight of 48,000 lbs. and accommodate 53 feet in length, 8 feet 5 inches in width and 9 feet 2 inches in height.
Curtain Side
Curtain Side trailers are versatile and allow the shipper and recipient to easily load or unload the trailer. These trailers can be loaded from the front, back, top or sides. The Conestoga comes with a durable sliding tarp system designed to protect freight in transit without touching it. This type of trailer is commonly used to carry heavy or sensitive loads that need security and protection from outside elements. Conestoga trailers eliminate the need to tarp a shipment like on a standard open flatbed.

The shipment of these materials may present a serious danger if an accident occurs during their shipment.
